Book the entire campsite for your group and explore with a private guide who times activities to tides, light and weather. It’s off-grid, exclusive-use camping in quiet coastal forest, about a 40-minute walk from the Kosi Bay Mouth estuary (iSimangaliso).
Why a 2-Night Weekend at Miggo’s Works (Quick Facts)
Exclusive-use privacy: one booking = your group only (4–8+ guests now; and expanding).
Private guide included: we plan one main experience per day for peak conditions—snorkeling, fish-kraal culture, forest/dune walks, kayaking, birding, shore/estuary fishing.
Simple, practical base: 4 leveled sand stands (7m × 3.5m, side-boarded) with six wooden anchor poles per stand; each stand has its own rustic toilet (Plus 4 larger stands).
Essentials provided: camp braai/BBQ, kitchen prep area, 2 communal hot showers, clean drinking water.
Power & lighting: no electricity at stands (one plug point at the kitchen area for phones/power banks); two spotlights light most of camp—bring headlamps.
Vehicles: parking for 2–3 vehicles (max 4 by arrangement); rooftop-tent rigs welcome.
Access: high-clearance/4×4 recommended, especially after rain/soft sand.

The 2-Night Fast Plan (Typical Fri–Sun)
Friday (Arrive & Exhale)
Arrive mid-afternoon, set up stands (use the anchor poles for guy-lines).
Snorkel taster at the “aquarium” if the tide and light play nice.
Sunset braai and stargazing.
Saturday (Unhurried “Big Day”)
Morning: Fish-kraal culture walk (gentle, shallow; etiquette briefing).
Midday: Rest/lunch; siesta in the coastal-forest shade.
Late afternoon: Snorkel at the clearest tide or short forest/dune walk to a lookout.
Evening: Firelight, stories; in turtle season we may swap the late session for a permitted turtle night (extra).
Sunday (One More Hit of Nature)
Dawn/early: quick birding stroll or snorkel on the push.
Coffee, pack up, and roll out refreshed.
We’ll tune the sequence to tides, wind and your priorities—family-friendly, couples’ pace, overlander setup, photo light, etc.
What to Bring (Weekend Pack List)
Tents & bedding, camp chairs, full cooking kit (stove, pots, utensils) + all food & drinks.
Headlamps/torches + power bank (single charging point at fridge area; low-draw).
Sun protection, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, sturdy sandals/shoes.
Snorkel kit (mask/snorkel/fins); water shoes help on entries.
Extra guylines/rope & pegs for the on-stand anchor poles (wind can pick up).
Optional: binoculars, camera, light wind/rain layer; small cooler for day snacks.
Safety & Practical
Follow your guide’s calls on tides, wind and entry/exit spots.
Move mindfully in shallows; respect fish-kraal zones and conservation rules.
Use headlamps after dark; accompany children to facilities.
Supplies: stock up in Manguzi (20–30 min; Spar/Boxer, fuel, ATMs, basics) before arrival.
Water: we provide clean, safe drinking water at camp.

Can we do snorkeling and a culture walk in one day?
Yes—our standard weekend plan pairs one main session with a secondary light session timed to the best tide and energy.
Do you supply snorkel gear or kayaks?
Bring your own snorkel gear. Kayaks are provided.
Is the camp really private for our dates?
Yes. Exclusive-use means your group has the site to yourselves.
Are bathrooms private?
Each stand has its own rustic toilet; there’s communal hot showers for the camp.
Can we arrive late on Friday?
Yes, but we recommend arriving with daylight to set up comfortably. We can shift Saturday’s plan to suit.
Is there power for fridges or hairdryers at stands?
No—no electricity at stands. One plug point at the kitchen area can top up phones/power banks etc.
Do we need a 4×4?
High-clearance or 4×4 is recommended.
