Turtle-Season FAQ

Is the turtle outing included in our camp rate?
— No. Turtle nights are run by permitted operators; fees/transport/permits are extra. We’ll help secure a slot and brief you on costs.

Do you guarantee sightings?
— No. We work with the best available nights and operators, but wildlife and conditions vary.

What months are best?
— Typically November to March. Nesting can start in early summer; hatching often peaks later in the season. Exact timing varies with conditions.

Can children join?
— Older children/teens generally manage the late hours and walking in sand better. We’ll advise based on your family and operator policies.

Do we need a 4×4 to reach the meeting point?
— Often recommended; some access roads are sandy and rough. If you don’t have one, ask us about shuttle/transfer options.

Can we take photos or video?
— Only if allowed by the operator and strictly without flash or white light. Expect limited opportunities; the priority is zero disturbance.

How late does it run?
— Plan for an evening start and a late return (often after midnight), depending on conditions and activity.
