Private Guide: How We Plan Snorkel Days
Tide window scouting for the clearest “aquarium” conditions.
Entry/exit briefings, current awareness, buddy system and flotation tips for newer swimmers.
Short wildlife orientation (reef fish, rays, occasional turtles; look-don’t-touch).
Optional second short session if conditions stay great later in the day.
Mix with gentle walks (dunes/forest) or a fish-kraal culture wander between sessions.
Turtle season (Nov–Mar): Night beach activity is strictly regulated with permitted operators; ask early if you want to combine a turtle night with snorkel days (extra fees may apply).
Sample 2-Night Snorkel Plan (Example)

Day 2: Morning high-tide snorkel → slow lunch → fish-kraal culture walk → short second snorkel if conditions hold.
Day 3: Coffee, quick clear-tide dip if timing allows, pack up.

Snorkeler FAQ
Is the “aquarium” suitable for beginners?
Usually yes—parts are shallow and calm when timed to the right tide. We’ll pick easy entries and stay within ability.
Do I need to bring fins?
We recommend fins for gentle current management and efficiency. Bring your own kit for best fit.
Can we snorkel at low tide?
Sometimes, but clarity and depth are often best on specific tide phases. Your guide will time sessions.
Are there jellyfish or dangerous species?
Hazards are seasonal/conditional. Your guide will brief you on the day. Wear a rash top and avoid touching marine life.
Do you provide snorkel gear?
No—we’re a BYO camping base. Bring your gear; if you need help sourcing or renting locally, ask in advance and we’ll advise what’s feasible.
