This is exclusive-use, off-grid camping a short drive from Kosi Bay Mouth in the iSimangaliso world heritage site. Bring your own tents, bedding, chairs, cooking kit and food; we provide the essentials at camp.

How many stands are there and how big?

We have 3 leveled sand stands, each roughly 7m × 3.5m, with side boards to prevent sand shift and six wooden poles to secure tents/guy lines. Each has a private bathroom with cold shower plus the communal hot showers. Plus we have 4 additional stands for larger tents and trailers, no caravans unfortunately due to restricted turning etc.

Can we bring a vehicle with a roof top tent?

Yes absolutely, the entire camp is yours to use as you wish. Vehicle parking is most suited to 2 or 3, 4 at max, but we can always make a plan.

Do stands have their own toilets?

Yes. Each en suite stand has its own rustic, private toilet, cold shower and basin. And communal hot showers for the camp.

No built kitchen. We provide a camp braai/BBQ, fire pit, and a stretch tent communal kitchen prep area with counters. Guests bring all cooking equipment (stove, pots, utensils) and all food & drinks.

Yes absolutely, you have exclusive use of the entire camp. On arrival we’ll show you the entire camp and you can choose how to set up.

Is there electricity at the stands?

No. No power at individual stands. A single plug point is available at the kitchen area for charging phones/power banks.

How is the camp lit at night?

Two spotlights light most of the camp. Please bring headlamps/torches for moving between tents and facilities after dark.

Is drinking water provided?

Yes—clean, safe drinking water is provided for guests from our borehole.

Do we need a 4×4?

High-clearance or a 4×4 is recommended, a normal vehicle may battle in the sand.

How far are you from the estuary?

Just a short drive or a beautiful slow 1 hours walk to the Kosi Bay Mouth (iSimangaliso Wetland Park).

Is a private guide included?

Yes. Your booking includes daily private guiding tailored to tides, weather and your interests (e.g., snorkeling, Thonga fish-kraal cultural walk, kayaking, hiking, birding, fishing). We typically plan one main experience per day for the best conditions and pace.

Are activities extra?

Yes, plus Permit/partner-based or specialist elements (e.g., turtle nesting tours in season, certain gear/boats, conservation permits) may also carry additional fees. We’ll confirm transparently before you book.

Turtle season details?

November–March (night walks with permits and approved guides). Availability depends on conservation rules and conditions—ask us early.

Is the camp suitable for families?

Yes absolutely, families are welcome and the camp provides a unique and exclusive use adventure bonding experience. Please note the remote, off-grid setting and ensure active adult supervision of children at all times.

Any wildlife or environment cautions?

Follow your guide’s instructions around water and wildlife. Use headlamps at night, secure food, and keep to marked paths.
